About Eurasia-Studies

This list is open to anyone with a scholarly interest in the study of the Eurasian region. The list serves to distribute inforamtion about events, opportunties and resources that are relevant for the scholars, students and anyone interested in any aspect of research and learning about the Eurasian region. The region is loosely definied to include areas of the former Soviet Union, and adjacent regions. While these regions are by no means unified, many share, to one extent or another, a common history (many having been within the orbit of the Mongol and Russian empires), cultural, linguistic, and religious connections (Turkic, Slavic, Iranian, Caucasian, Islamic, Orthodox Christian, etc.), and common contemporary issues such as transition from communism and new nation-building. Anyone wishing to keep informed of relevant activities and opportunities can be added to this announcement list by contacting the address below. If there is a Eurasian regional studies-related event, opportunity or resources that you would like to publicize (conferences, grants, jobs, study programs, new publications, etc.), please send the information as an email message (no attachments) to:

Subscribing to Eurasia-Studies

Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator.
